Are you interested in presenting at the Pre-Conference or Wisconsin’s Annual State-wide Institute on Best Practices in Inclusive Education?

We are seeking Forum Presentations for the Monday Pre-Conference and the Tuesday and Wednesday Institute.

All presentation proposals are due by 12 p.m. on March 2. You will be informed by e-mail no later than March 15 on the status of your presentation proposal.

Pre-Conference and Inclusion Institute location: Westwood Conference Center in Wausau, WI

Pre-Conference Presentations should focus on Maximizing Learning for Students with Significant Support Needs (i.e. students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities). We are looking for applicable information and strategies that school staff, parents, related service providers and others can implement in their work and lives.

Pre-Conference common presentation topics as related to Maximizing Learning for Students with Significant Support Needs: Differentiating Instruction; Universal Design for Learning, Accommodations and Modifications; Co-teaching; Inclusive Staffing & Instructional Design; Literacy; Self-Determination: Transition to Employment & College; Post-Secondary Options; Community Inclusion, Natural Supports: IEP’s & Grading; Response to Intervention; Technology; Communication Development & Options; Augmentative & Alternative Communication; Family Engagement; Working with Paraprofessionals; Including Students with Intellectual or Development Disabilities; Including Students with varying abilities in science, math, social sciences, English/Language arts, fine arts, performing arts, and other academic subjects; Developing & Leading Inclusive Schools & Programs.

  • Each proposal that is selected for presentation will include registration waiver for one presenter. Co-Presenters will need to pay the registration fee.
  • Handouts: Presenters are responsible for providing electronically-formatted hand-outs that can be uploaded onto the Inclusion Institute website.
