Keynote Speaker: Eric Smith ( Educator, & Advocate) has enjoyed teaching as a Learning Strategist for the past 19 years in Stoughton, WI at the middle and high school levels. As department chair of special education, he supported and facilitated the transformation to inclusion. Eric has presented the past 3 years at the Partners in Policymaking Conference in Madison, WI as well as the National TASH (The Association of Persons with Severe Handicaps) Conference in Baltimore, MD. Eric’s keynote address will inspire participants to maximize learning opportunities for all students through an inclusionary district model. By transforming schools to be more inclusive for all students, career readiness skills are enhanced and learning becomes more meaningful. Eric will provide details regarding how this inclusive education approach positively impacts students with disabilities, as well as the greater school community. Audra Smith and Alex Smith will co-present by sharing their experiences and perspectives as students.
